Mad Skills

Spud is 5 days old today. Grandpa and Grandma Chadwick came down from Virginia to meet their grandson on Monday and left today (pictures below). Thus far, he seems to exhibit fairly limited skills, including a) pooping and peeing, b) whimpering, c) crying, d) furiously crying, e) eating, f) uncontrolled wriggling, g) looking around, randomly, and h) sleeping. On Monday afternoon, he paid his first visit to the pediatrician, and has a clean bill of health. His weight is down to 7 lbs. 14 oz, but apparently such weight loss is typical after birth. He has some broken blood vessels in his eyes, probably due to his egress into the world. He also seems to have some patches of dry skin. We will monitor these riveting medical developments and report any changes.
