In an effort to keep the baby occupied, Claire brought out the "Johnny Jump Up" (I think I have some royalties coming my way) swing, which hangs from a doorway. Keeping in mind that the seat of the swing apparently is supposed to act something like a pair of external pants, thus holding the child firmly in place, we think it may be just a bit too early for this activity. But then, we are new parents and we could be wrong. He does seem to enjoy it, although he bobs around inside the exo-pants a bit, like a little bell knocker. Any thoughts?
We are now off to the pediatrician for our 3-month checkup and shots.

Grandpa Chadwick says: my only suggestion is to take LOTS of pictures when he is in this thing, because they (a) are really cute, and (b) can be used to threaten him later in life by saying you are going to show his girlfriend.
ReplyDeleteI wish they made one MY size.
Aunt Megan observes that gnawing on the edge of the Jolly Jumper/Johnny Jump-Up/whatever used to be one of Marcus's favorite pastimes, too.
ReplyDeleteI particularly like how you can see the pool of saliva that has soaked into it :)
I remember when we got this "johnny jump up" Claire....back when you were just about five months along....now here he is sitting in it...well, sort of sitting in it. He really is a cutie...and these pictures are adorable. Look at those huge blue eyes.
ReplyDeleteExternal pants...as opposed to internal pants? eww.
ReplyDeleteExternal to one's regular pants. Pants within pants. Not to mention underpants.
