Asheville

Another week, and more meetings at far-flung universities. This week we travelled to Asheville (UNC Asheville) and Cullowhee (Western Carolina University).

Thursday night dinner out on the town in Asheville.

After my meetings on Friday morning and afternoon, we drove a short way up to Great Smokey Mountains National Park. It was Spud's first official National Park, so Claire got him the little passport that you can get stamped at each park that you visit. He'll appreciate it later. For now, he just chewed on it.

Waterfalls:

And beautiful mountain scenery:

Add some dorky tourists:

Nice rivers:

And rocks, of course:

We drove and hiked up to Clingman's Dome, the highest point in the park.

We had a blast!

  1. The common thread running through all of the Posts to this Blog is: what a happy little guy! He obviously is enjoying his early childhood a lot and it's a shame that he will not remember any of it! But, he's getting a good foundation in happy-kid and that generally tends to last.....uh, until they turn 13. :-)
