The Goal: A Sedentary Pink Lump
We realized this morning that everyone is happy only if Spud is not crying, whimpering, flailing wildly, and/or furiously shrieking. That is, we are all happy when he is a sedentary pink lump. This occurs only immediately after the diaper is replaced and he's had a good feed. But, at this point he's not very interactive and fun for Daddy. If you try to play with him or interact in any way, he is back in whimering mode. I'm having more fun training the cats to use the new cat door that leads out the garage. Baxter has mastered the skill set relatively quickly, but Sophie and Cricket are still in the very early stages. I tried shoving them directly into the door (picture the Grinch stuffing the Christmas tree into the chimney), but that technique did not give the best results.

FYI....prop cat door open for awhile until cats realize you are not trying to get them to disappear into a black hole..or some kind of cat guillotine..they are highly suspcious of the new "pink blob" that has replaced them in mommy and daddy's affections...at least somewhat..
