Thunderhead

School picture day! What a cute cute little boy! Hey, what's that on his head?

Poor little bugger thunked his head in the week before picture day. Twice. Thunk. Thunk. Ouch. Ouch. Learning to walk is fraught with danger.

He looks like he's saying: "Look at me. They clearly dropped me on my head. Twice. Call child protective services. And get that damn camera out of my face, weirdo."

Growing up is hard. And so are walls. And gravity sucks.

  1. F'geddaboudit. Getting nicks and cuts is what boys do.
The real problem with the photo is that frumpy nerd shirt. Now, it's out in the blogosphere; and Benjamin will never be able to show his face at the Malt Shop with Archie and Jughead and Betty and Veronica. Thanks a lot, Mom and dad! He'll carry the emotional scars forever.
He probably threw himself on his face at the prospect of wearing that shirt on picture day, hoping that Mom and Dad wouldn't allow his picture to be taken with cuts and abrasions on his forehead. Well, that didn't work at all! Only kidding, of course. It's obvious that the shirt is there to distract from the wounds; so, good call. Many viewers will see the shirt, first, and instinctively avert their gazes, never noticing who is wearing it.
Cousin Marcus actually pulled a bucket over his head when he saw us taking a picture of him wearing a similar shirt.
Never fear, Benjamin; Grandpa Grimm will help you Photoshop a Redskins number 9 jersey (Sonny Jurgensen) over that horse blanket.
Sonny's in the Football Hall of Fame (mostly because he never wore a shirt like that one).
Ah, well. Grandpa Grimm is off to spread sunshine and good tidings to others. TTFN!
